A
compact fine grain metamorphic rock that possesses slaty cleavage and hence can
be split into slabs and thin plates. It is composed primarily of silica and
alumina. Please note that as these are natural stones, variations of color and
tones exist and are characteristics to the stones. Surface laminations are
natural to the cleft look.
